As soon as there is metal, rust is not far away! Whether it's on a knife, a bicycle, a motorcycle or a car, you can be sure that rust is getting stuck in it. Need to get those nasty rust spots gone fast? I'm sure you already have everything you need at home.
1. Citric acid
On contact with citric acid, iron oxide reacts and the rust becomes colorless. For this, it is enough to dilute 2 tablespoons of citric acid in 1/2 liter of hot water. Apply your mixture to the rust. Pass a brush over it. All you have to do is rinse and dry well. There is another solution to remove citric acid. To do this, you must first put on a pair of household gloves to protect your hands. Then sprinkle a damp sponge with a teaspoon of citric acid. Soak your sponge in 1/2 liter of hot water. Spread it over the rusty area then rinse and dry well.
2. Baking soda and vinegar Put a tablespoon of baking soda in a mug.
Pour vinegar over it to dilute the baking soda. Put on your cleaning gloves then with a brush, take your sparkling mixture. Apply it on the rusty areas. Finally, use a damp sponge to remove residue. 3. Blanc de Meudon and alcohol It is also called Spanish white. Either way, it is very effective in removing rust from the iron. In a small container, put a tablespoon of methylated spirits. Add Meudon white to make a paste. Now apply the resulting paste on the rust. Leave the necessary time for it to dry. Then with a chamois or a microfiber cloth, rub to make it shine.
